To investigate the role of strontium ranelate.the novel antiosteoporofic agent,in
regulating the apoptosis of osteoblasts under simulated microgmvity.Methods Apoptotic cells were
identified on the basis of nuclear morphology with 4,6-diamidino-2 phenylindole(DAPI)staining and
rotating cell culture system WB$used to simulate microgmVibtional effect.Results Simulated mierogravity
increased apoptosis of osteoblasts cells and this could be reversed by strontium mnelate treatment.
Conclusion Here we demonstrate that strontium ranelate plays a protective role in osteoblast survival in
simulated microgravity environment.This provides a theoretical and experimental evidence for the treatment
of microgravity—induced bone Iogs with strontium ranelate. |
