Objective To reveal the bad living habits, underlying diseases, unreasonable or ineffective treatment of osteoporosis before admission and preoperative period, irregular use of calcitonin and other drugs, and operation injury or death situation through the investigation and analysis of osteoporotic hip fractures in senile patients in Shenyang, in order to provide theoretical basis for the prevention of osteoporotic hip fractures in senile patients. Methods A total of 765 patients with osteoporotic hip fractures, who were over 65 years old and received treatment in 10 local hospitals from January 2006 to December 2011,were enrolled. A questionnaire survey was conducted. The operation condition and other aspects were statistically analyzed. Results Along with the increasing trend of osteoporotic hip fractures in elderly people year by year, people who were over 65 years old and had bad life habit and underlying diseases were in the majority. Their postoperative impairment and mortality were also high. Conclusion Survey and analysis of the incidence of osteoporotic hip fractures in senile patients in Shenyang from the aspects of bad living habits and underlying diseases provide reliable basis for this study. At the same time, we should do a good job in the education of osteoporosis, in order to prevent osteoporotic hip fractures. |
