Objective To study the nutritional status of elderly osteoporosis patients and to explore the impact of self-health management on their nutritional status, with the aim to improve the nutritional status of the elderly osteoporosis patients and to provide the basis for effective treatment. Methods Using general demographic information and economic situation questionnaire,mini nutritional assessment scale, health self-management behavior subscales at the North China University of Science and Technology Affiliated Hospital Osteoporosis Clinic, 412 cases of senile osteoporosis patients were evaluated. Results In single factor analysis, gender, marital status, income, tea drinking, exercise, smoking, alcohol, milk intake, self-management, social support influenced nutritional status of elderly osteoporosis patients. Further logistic regression analysis concluded that gender, marital status,tea drinking,sports, self-management, and other factors affect nutritional status of elderly osteoporosis patients,the difference was statistically significant ( P < 0. 05 ). Conclusion Daily behavior and personal health management affect the nutritional status of elderly osteoporosis patients. Attention should be paid to guide the elderly to choose a healthy lifestyle, thus to improve the nutritional status of elderly osteoporosis patients. |
