With the development of economy, the acceleration of population aging and the changes in lifestyle, osteoporosis has gradually become a nationwide health problem in China. Hip fractures often occur in elderly people with osteoporosis. People with osteoporosis are at a high risk of second hip fracture after their initial fracture. Taking effective intervention against risk factors will help to prevent secondary hip fracture. This paper reviews the related risk factors for secondary hip fracture, including type of initial fracture, gender, age, bone metabolic markers, bone mineral density, singh index, comorbidity and body mass index, etc. |
