      绝经后骨质疏松症是一种受雌激素水平和衰老因素影响的代谢性骨病,其发病率及致残率高,严重威胁着全球女性的健康。下丘脑-垂体-卵巢轴是调控雌激素分泌的内分泌轴,除了调控女性生殖以外,还与绝经后骨质疏松症的发病密切相关,中医将其归属于肾的范畴。研究证实海马不仅与阿尔茨海默病等衰老疾病的发病息息相关,而且是负反馈调节下丘脑-垂体-肾上腺轴的高级中枢,因而海马在绝经后骨质疏松症的发病中可能具有重要的作用。肾脑相关理论作为祖国医学理论体系的重要组成部分,“肾主骨生髓,髓充于骨,汇于脑”的理论内涵表明脑、肾、骨三者间存在着密切联系。因此,本文从肾脑相关理论入手,探讨海马-HPOA对绝经后骨质疏松症的调控作用,旨在进一步阐明绝经后骨质疏松症的发病机制,丰富中医肾脑相关理论及发挥中医药防治绝经后骨质疏松症的潜在价值。

      Postmenopausal osteoporosis is a kind of metabolic bone disease affected by estrogen levels and aging factors. With high morbidity and disability rate, postmenopausal osteoporosis has been a serious threat to the women's health globally. The hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis is an endocrine axis regulating the secretion of estrogen, which not only regulates the female reproduction, but also closely related to the incidence of postmenopausal osteoporosis. And this belongs to the category of kidney in the Chinese traditional medicine. Researches confirmed that the hippocampus is not only closely related with the onset of aging diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, but also is a senior center to adjust the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis by a negative feedback. Thus, the hippocampus may play an important role in the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis. “Kidney and Brain correlation” theory is an important component of Chinese medicine theory system. “Kidney advocates bone marrow, and marrow is in bone and sinks in the brain" is the connotation of this theory which indicates a close relationship among the Brain, Kidney and Bone. Therefore, this article discusses the regulation of hippocampus-HPOA in postmenopausal osteoporosis based on the “Kidney and Brain correlation” theory, to further clarify the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis, enrich the “Kidney and Brain correlation” theory of the Chinese traditional medicine and develop the potential value of Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment postmenopausal osteoporosis.
