Objective To explorer the application of WeChat education in continuity of care nursing in patients with osteoporotic fracture. Methods A total of 120 patients with osteoporotic fractures were divided in to control group and observation group according to the admission order, with 60 patients in each group. Patients in both groups received osteoporosis education, including general knowledge, diet, exercise, sunshine, drug use, and anti-fall. Patients in the control group received printed education form after discharge. Patients in the observation group received interactive health education through WeChat which was set up during the admission. The recognition of osteoporosis knowledge, VAS, patient satisfaction, and SF-36's score were evaluated in 12-month follow up. Results The evaluation of all the dimensions of osteoporosis knowledge, VAS, patient satisfaction, and SF-36's score was statistically different between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Application of WeChat education in continuity of care nursing in patients with osteoporotic fracture reduces VAS score, improves osteoporosis knowledge, and insures patient satisfaction and living quality. |
