Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a common orthopaedic disease, which is known as the “undead cancer” because of its high disability rate. In recent years, the incidence of this disease has been increasing, and its prevention and treatment has become a hot topic in modern medical research. The pregnancy induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head is a special type of femoral head necrosis, which is gradually receiving more attention. Due to the special population of patients, its pathogenesis is complicated and it is easy to be misdiagnosed. Usually pregnancy is thought to be closely related to its occurrence. Therefore, combining the latest research situation in China and overseas, this review summarizes the etiology and pathogenesis of femoral head osteonecrosis in pregnancy, with the aim of providing guidance for the clinical prevention and treatment of ONFH. |
