With the deepening of aging in China, the incidence rate of osteoporosis has been increasing, which has seriously threatened the health of our citizens. As the most serious complication of osteoporosis, fracture is the main cause of death in patients with osteoporosis. In recent years, there are many researches on osteoporotic fractures, but they focus on osteoporotic vertebral fractures, and few studies on osteoporotic non vertebral fractures. At present, the drugs to prevent osteoporosis in the market are often aimed at vertebral fracture, while the drugs for osteoporosis non vertebral fracture are less. As a new member of Wnt family, wnt16 is a key factor in regulating the bone cortex. Therefore, wnt16 may be a potential target for the prevention of non vertebral fractures. This article mainly summarizes the recent research on wnt16 in osteoporotic fractures, and discusses the role of wnt16 in the prevention of osteoporotic non vertebral fractures, in order to provide reference for clinical prevention of osteoporotic non vertebral fractures, and provide new ideas for the development of drugs for osteoporosis non vertebral fractures. |
