Objective To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy ofthree kinds of Chinese herbal compound rich in collagen on osteoporosis (OP). Methods Relevant literatures published on CNKI, VIP, WANFANG, PubMed, Science Direct, Research Gate, Springer Link, and Taylor and Francis Online databases were searched by computer. The published time of the articles was from the establishment time of these databases to August 2020. Research papers in these databases were screened and collagen-rich medicines used on OP were reserved, which are Guilu Bushen pills (or oral solution), Guilu Erxian Glue and Donkey-hide Astragalus Oral Liquid. Revman5.3 software was used to conduct a meta-analysis of the research results that meet the inclusion criteria. Results A total of 253 articles were obtained and 15 articles were included in the final meta-analysis. The included literatures all passed the Jadad Score. But all the scores were no more than 2 points. Meta analysis results showed that the efficacy of the three Chinese medicines alone were significantly better than basic therapy, respectively [OR = 3.40, 95% CI (1.77,6.53), P=0.0002]. When these Chinese medicines combined with basic therapy respectively, better efficacies were obtained [OR = 3.63, 95% CI (2.11,6.24), P<0.0001]. Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicines rich in collagen can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of OP, increase the bone density of the patients, and have a low incidence of adverse reactions. |
