Objective To retrospectively analyze the levels of vitamin D (25(OH)D) of hospitalized patients in a hospital in Heilongjiang province from October 2017 to October 2018, and to discuss the influential factors. Methods Data were collected from the cases whose 25(OH)D was determined in the hospital during 2017-2018. The case information was retrieved. The 25(OH)D levels were classified and compared according to different information. Results The study sample included 876 subjects, including 799 subjects in the 25(OH)D deficiency group and the insufficient group, accounting for 91.21% of the total population, and 77 subjects in the 25(OH)D sufficient group, accounting for 8.79%. The level of 25(OH)D in the male group was higher than that in the female group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001). There was no statistically significant correlation between age and 25(OH)D level in the male group (P=0.772), but there was a weak positive correlation in the female group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in 25(OH)D level between the osteoporosis group (OP) and the non-osteoporosis group (NOP, P=0.714), but the level of 25(OH)D in the osteoporosis treatment group was higher than that in the NOP group (P=0.024). Conclusion In this study, the 25(OH)D level of the whole sample is low, suggesting that the 25(OH)D level of the population in this area is generally low. The level of 25(OH)D is associated with gender and lifestyle, but is not associated with age or osteoporosis. Taking active vitamin D does not improve the level of 25(OH)D. People in Heilongjiang should pay attention to 25(OH)D supplementation, which can be achieved through lifestyle improvement or oral vitamin D supplementation. |
