Curcumin has been widely studied in the treatment of osteoporosis in recent years. It can promote osteogenesis or inhibit osteoclast through six signal pathways, including Wnt/β-catenin, TGFβ1/Smad2/3, GSK3β/Nrf2, OPG/RANKL/RANK, Akt/GSK3β and NF-κB, and special proteins and enzymes, such as EZH2, FOXO3a, MMP-9, CCL3, IGF-1 and IGFBP-1, so as to improve the symptoms of osteoporosis. Curcumin has been found to be effective in many types of osteoporosis and is expected to be a potential drug for the prevention and treatment of primary and secondary osteoporosis.in this article, we review that molecular mechanism of curcumin in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis reported in recent year, in order to provide a reference for the clinical application of curcumin. |
