| Osteoporosis (OP) is a systemic bone disease, mostly asymptomatic in the early stage, and clinically manifested as pain, spinal deformation, and fragility fracture in the later stage. The prevalence increases year by year with the aging of society. Traditional Chinese medicine has the characteristics of multi-target joint effect on the treatment of OP, among which fisetin, the active ingredient of Chinese medicine Huangqi, has a certain effect on the treatment of OP. By reviewing the research progress of the mechanism of action of fisetin in the treatment of OP from targeted removal of senescent cells, promotion of osteoblast differentiation, protection of osteoblasts, and inhibition of osteoclast differentiation, this paper provides a theoretical basis for further research in the treatment of OP. |
