Postmenopausal osteoporosis is a systemic metabolic disease with the imbalance of bone absorption-bone formation as the basic pathogenesis, which belongs to the category of bone impotence in traditional Chinese medicine. Based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, bone impotence is a disease with the main pathogenesis characteristics that muscle and bone disease are external and liver, spleen, and kidney deficiency are internal. The effect of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata on viscera is manifested as tonifying liver, spleen and kidney, tonifying blood and nourishing Yin, and nourishing essence. In the body, it is manifested as filling bone marrow, lengthening muscle, and promoting blood circulation. Based on the results of modern research, the effect of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis is the result of the interaction of many effective substances, which may regulate the coupling of bone resorption and bone formation through multi-links and multi-targets. By combing domestic and foreign literature,, this paper summarizes and discusses the mechanism of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata in anti-postmenopausal osteoporosis bone metabolism disorder from the three dimensions of property-efficacy-application characteristics, combined with the understanding of the five viscera concept theory of traditional Chinese medicine, in order to implement the research paradigm of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine for the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine, and to provide a reference for better study in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis mechanism of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata and its clinical medicinal value. |
