With the increasing aging of the population, sarcopenia is becoming an important social problem in recent years. It has been recognized as a clinical disease by the World Health Organization since 2016. Sarcopenia is a kind of senile comprehensive disease with the increase of age. The quality and strength of human muscles appear progressive decline, which has a significant impact on the physiology and life of the elderly. Many studies have found that tumor necrosis factor plays an important role in the occurrence and development of sarcopenia. In this paper, by summarizing domestic and foreign literature reports, we summarize the mechanism of tumor necrosis factor inducing the occurrence of sarcopenia by affecting nerve, hormone, protein, immune, and autophagy pathways, in order to provide a reference for future research on the occurrence and development of sarcopenia. |
