Bone immunology emphasizes two-way communication between bone and immune cells. Bone metabolic homeostasis is the key to the dynamic balance between bone formation and bone resorption and plays an important role in bone development and health. T cells are major members of the immune system. By polarizing into different subpopulations, T cells produce a range of cytokines that are involved in the regulation of bone homeostasis. Bone and the immune system interact by sharing multiple regulatory molecules and tissue microenvironments. Based on the theory of bone immunology, the classification and function of T cells and the correlation between T cells and bone metabolism are reviewed in this paper, aiming to provide new ideas for the prevention and treatment of metabolic bone diseases. |
