| Bone remodeling is an orderly and coupled metabolic process of bone resorption-formation, which is essential for maintaining bone integrity and mineral homeostasis. The theory of “essence-blood homology” is one of the classical guiding principles of orthopedics and traumatology in Chinese medicine, which plays an important role in guiding the treatment of bone fractures, bone defects, osteoporosis and other orthopedic diseases. “As the material basis for the structural and functional connection between bone and liver and kidney organs, the growth, maturation and regeneration of bone are closely related to the fullness of “essence and blood”. By regulating the interactions between essence and blood, we can regulate all stages of the bone reconstruction process, thus promoting bone repair and regeneration. Recent studies have found that the “coupled osteogenesis” regulated by H-vessels plays a key role in the bone reconstruction stage. From the perspective of Chinese medicine theory, we analyze that the osteogenesis- angiogenesis mechanism of H-vessels is similar to that of “essence-blood” mutual osteogenesis mechanism in terms of similar theories and similar effects. Therefore, based on the theory of “essence-blood homology”, this paper explores the coupled osteogenesis regulated by H-vessels as a potential target for the treatment of bone diseases with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and summarizes the roles and links between the two, so as to elucidate the mechanism of bone reconstruction regulated by TCM under the guidance of the classical TCM theory from the perspective of H-vessel-coupled osteogenesis, and to enrich and develop the mechanism of bone reconstruction under the guidance of H-vessel-coupled osteogenesis. This will enrich and develop the scientific connotation of the theory of “essence and blood have the same origin”. |
