      骨质疏松(osteoporosis, OP)在老年人群中高发,是全球老龄化趋势下亟待解决的重要健康问题。传统研究聚焦于骨稳态和骨密度评估,但近年来,骨髓脂肪组织(bone marrow adipose tissue,BMAT)的生物学功能及其对OP和骨质疏松性骨折(osteoporotic fracture, OPF)的影响备受关注。研究表明,BMAT在骨骼健康调节中扮演关键角色,会影响骨代谢,为OP预防和治疗提供了新策略,促进了OP形成机制的更新。新型治疗方法和药物通过调节BMAT的生物学特性改善骨骼质量。值得注意的是,BMAT含量与骨密度呈反向关联,有望成为新型检测标志物。BMAT检测技术的进步支持了这一想法。本文就BMAT的生物学进展及其与OP、OPF间的影响机制进行综述,为研发更有效、便捷的OP及OPF诊疗方式提供了新思路。

      In the light of the burgeoning trend of global aging, osteoporosis (OP) has emerged as a critical health issue that necessitates expedient resolution. Conventional research endeavors have been primarily concentrated on the maintenance of bone homeostasis and the assessment of bone mineral density. However, in contemporary times, the biological functions of bone marrow adipose tissue (BMAT) and its implications for OP as well as osteoporotic fractures (OPF) have garnered significant scholarly interest. Empirical evidence suggests that BMAT plays a pivotal role in the regulation of bone health and affects bone metabolism, offering novel avenues for the prophylaxis and management of this condition and facilitating the refinement of OP pathogenetic mechanisms. Therapeutic advancements and pharmacological agents have demonstrated efficacy in enhancing bone mass through the modulation of BMAT biology. Notably, there is an observed inverse correlation between BMAT content and bone mineral density, which holds promise as a novel biomarker for diagnostic purposes. The refinement of BMAT testing methodologies further endorses this perspective. The present paper provides a comprehensive review of the biological advancements in BMAT research and its pathophysiological mechanisms in relation to OP and OPF, thereby offering innovative insights into the development of more efficacious and convenient diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for these conditions.
