| Adiponectin (APN), as an endogenous adipokine, has been demonstrated to modulate bone metabolism through specific signaling pathways. APPL1, serving as a key mediator of adiponectin, plays a crucial role in this process. This article reviews the contributions of APN and its receptor AdipoR1 in bone metabolism, with a particular emphasis on recent advancements regarding the APN signaling pathway mediated by APPL1 in this context. The objective is to further elucidate the mechanisms underlying adiponectin's influence on bone metabolism and to identify new potential therapeutic targets for osteoporosis and related disorders. |
